Alisha O’Toole
Enduring Support Coordinator
Personal Connection
Growing up, I knew my passion was families and their children navigating hard times which led to my career in social work. After spending many years in child welfare, I had a sudden career change that changed my focus to supporting families during end of life decisions. In this work, I supported families during all types of losses but I always noticed, the families who experienced child loss were very unique and left me wishing there was more I could do for them. When I learned about Walk With You, I knew it was a mission I believed in and wanted to support.
Roles & Contributions
My journey at Walk With You started as being a member of the board and supporting the work many were doing to provide direct care to the families navigating child loss. I recently became an Enduring Support Coordinator and now I get to work directly with the families to follow up with them and ensure they have access to the support and resources they needed throughout their grief.
Vision & Impact
I hope my impact supports Walk With You long-term, to help them maintain the wonderful work they are doing. I hope the families I connect with as an Enduring Support Coordinator know each of them matters to Walk With You on a personal level, we are remembering and honoring their child, saying their name and they always have a safe space where they can talk about their child and be honest, real and raw regarding their grief.
