Enjoy a full morning of connection with a 5K Walk/Run, a fun ½-mile Kid’s Run, coffee, food trucks, face painting, and more! Hosted by Walk With You, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families through the unimaginable loss of a child, this event is more than just a race, it’s a space to honor, remember, and give back. Every dollar raised goes directly toward furthering our mission of compassionate grief support.

The WWY 5k is an annual fundraiser to support families who have experienced child loss.
Everyone is welcome! Whether you have experienced the loss of a child or not, please come walk with us!
WWY 5k will be held on September 20, 2025. We will be at the back loop of Water Works Park in Des Moines, Iowa.
There is a $30 fee to register per person. Please click “Register” at the top of this page.
All proceeds go towards helping the families we walk with.
Yes! Personalized signs honoring a special kiddo will be displayed along the 5k route and are yours to take home after the event. You do not need to be registered to purchase a sign. Please note: We are unable to mail signs at this time.
Yes! We will have a special kids run and activities.
Unfortunately, at this time we cannot have pets attend.
