Bereavement Support Advocate

Personal Connection

I have walked alongside the loss of a child in multiple ways over the years, both in my personal life and career. In 2017 a close friend experienced the loss of their daughter. I had spent many days in the hospital alongside her and her family, and continued to support them after their loss. Between 2020 and 2023 I lived in Uganda, where I managed a children’s home for children with disabilities. I saw the loss of five children in our home during those years, experiencing the grief journey for myself, my staff members, and the children’s families. Currently I work as an early childhood play therapist where I often encounter families grieving various losses. After meeting Kylie through church I felt called to commit to the incredible work WWY is doing and began volunteering in 2025.

Roles & Contributions

I am currently serving as a Bereavement Support Advocate, walking alongside parents and families as they grieve. I assist with providing resources and coordinating the various services we offer. I also lead Support System Equipping sessions to help family and friends know how to support grieving parents in meaningful and helpful ways.

Vision & Impact

My hope is the same as our vision, that no family would feel alone in their grief. I desire to provide not only resources, but come alongside families as someone who cares for them, and deeply desires to remember their child. I am especially hopeful that we can provide support for siblings or other surviving children, as well as help parents navigate not only their own grief, but that of their other children’s as well.
