Mindy Brown

Bereaved Parent Mentor Coordinator

Personal Connection

When my husband and I decided we were ready to try and grow our family, we were not prepared for our fertility journey to be so difficult. Our fertility journey began with multiple miscarriages, prior to conceiving our 2 living children. To date, we have conceived 7 babies, and are blessed to hold 3 of them in our arms. For me, serving with WWY was about finding a purpose for my pain. It was finding a way to bring purpose and life, from the loss of my babies. It has been the driving force, and has allowed me to direct my grief from our losses into something beneficial and meaningful to the world.

Roles & Contributions

I hold multiple roles within Walk With You, each deeply rooted in my commitment to supporting our families. As the Board Member Vice President, I am dedicated to shaping the organization's long-term vision, ensuring its enduring impact in serving families for years to come. As the Bereaved Parent Mentor Coordinator, my job is to match newly bereaved parents with other loss families that have similarities with their loss. This allows WWY to provide specific care and allows the best matching connection between parents to exist as they find similarities between their stories. I always say, I have the best job within WWY, as I have the honor to listen to parents tell us the stories of their precious children. It is a role and responsibility I do not take lightly.

Vision & Impact

Through my various roles, I hope to change the trajectory of our families' grief journeys, allowing them to feel connected, heard, and validated as they walk through that first year of loss. Through the connection with a Bereaved Parent Mentor, we ensure that no family walks child loss alone.
